Our lower secondary students study an instrument during class and play in a group, as part of a Big Band.
They build their skills through practice and experience and are free to choose which instrument they would like to play.
BIG BAND INSTRUMENTS
Wind Section: Trumpet (Bb), rod trombone, and alto sax
Rhythm section: Piano, bass, and drums
Students who want to continue playing in a Big Band can play in our official Hamelin-Laie Big Band – formed of students who wish to expand upon and continually practise their musical talents.
Individual classes
Individual lessons are a great way to build on musical skills and talents. Our dynamic teachers offer classes of 30 minutes or 1 hour in: piano, guitar, ukulele, bass, drums, sax, trumpet, trombone, violin, orcello.
Group classes
We also offer group lessons in a number of instruments and pair students with others of the same level so that they can progress together. We also offer a beginner group for primary students who are interested in starting to learn the trumpet, sax, or guitar.
